Our studio offers a Kimono Photoshoot Experience around Sensoji Temple, accompanied by a professional and experienced photographer. They will guide you through Asakusa’s most iconic photo spots—from the famous Kaminarimon Gate and Nakamise Street to peaceful alleys —capturing every beautiful moment of you in kimono.
Our photographers know Asakusa’s light, rhythm, and charm. They will provide gentle posing guidance and shooting advice based on your personality and the color and pattern of your kimono, helping even first-time guests look natural and elegant.
Whether you’re visiting as a couple, with friends, family, or on your own, we’ll help you preserve warm and genuine memories of Japan through our lens.

- Photoshoot Locations
- We offer outdoor photography sessions at scenic spots around Sensoji Temple, where you can enjoy Asakusa’s unique streetscapes and traditional Japanese atmosphere.
- Rainy Day Photoshoots
- In case of light rain, the photoshoot can still proceed as scheduled. Asakusa in the rain has its own special charm — click here to view sample photos taken on rainy days.
- Please note that kimono rental fee is not included in the photography package.

Photo Editing Details
- Colour Tone Adjustment
- Basic retouching includes overall adjustments to color, brightness, contrast, white balance, saturation, and tone.
- Detail Edtiting
- This retouching service not only adjusts the overall tone and light balance, but also provides detailed enhancements to skin tone and facial features.
Through natural and subtle editing, we gently soften wrinkles, spots, and dark circles to create a smoother, brighter complexion.
We focus on preserving the subject’s authentic texture and natural lighting, so that each photo remains true to its original atmosphere while appearing to be refined and elegant.

Flow of photo delivery
- Unretouched photo data will be emailed to you within 7 days after the shooting date. Please download the JPG file from the Google drive link in the email.
- After downloading the un-retouched photos, please choose photos that you would like our photographer to edit. Please tell us the filenames for each photo.
- After confirming the file names, we will send you edited photos in JPG format via a Google drive link within 3 weeks.
- The link is valid for 30 days, please download them within this time.

Please note that we do not accept any refunds for any reason, even if you are not satisfied with the photos our photographer edited.
Please note that we are not responsible for any accidents or injuries that may occur during the shooting.
In the unlikely event that there is a problem with providing photos, we will do our best to resolve the problem, but in case of unable to provide the photos, we will refund the full amount of the photography plan you ordered. We will not be able to offer any other compensation such as compensation or secondary damage.
The portrait rights of the photo belong to the customer and the copyright belongs to the photographer & Kimono Rental Yae.
We may ask for customer's permission to use customer's photos our website or SNS. Customers photos won't be posted without customer's permission.

Photography FAQs
- Can I still have a photoshoot if I didn’t make a reservation?
- Unreserved photoshoot service can only be arranged if our photographer is available.
If their schedules are full, we will not be able to provide the service.
Please make sure to book in advance to secure a session. - When will I receive the photos?
- Unretouched photos will be emailed to you within 7 days after shooting date.
After we have confirmed the photos you’ve chosen, edited photos will be emailed to you within 3 weeks.
Please refer to our "Photography" Page for more information. - Where will the photoshoot take place? Can I go somewhere else like Meiji Jingu temple or Nezu?
- The shooting service provided by YAE only takes place around Sensoji Temple and Asakusa main street.
Our photographer cannot take customers outside Asakusa area. - Do you have a studio for photoshoot?
- We only provide outdoor shooting service.
- Can I extend the shooting time?
- We can only accommodate time extension in the case that our photographer does not already have another booking lined up.
Please inquire as soon as possible via email if you have a change of mind. - If it’s raining or snowing, will the shoot be cancelled?
- The photoshoot can still take place if it rains or snows. It also allows for a different mood and tone of the photos!
It is also possible to rearrange the date of shooting if the weather is unfavorable for you, please contact us well in advance for rearrangement. - Is it possible to take photos after sunset?
- Without sunlight, the photo quality will drop due to inadequate lighting.
We strongly recommend having the photoshoot before the sun sets as we do not provide additional lighting.
