The Kimono Rental Journey♪
目次
Reservation
As a customer, I first made an online reservation for my visit. Although you can rent a kimono by walking in on the day, making a reservation in advance is really convenient. It saves time by eliminating the wait, making the whole process much smoother. The online reservation interface is also very simple and easy to understand, and anyone can complete it in just a few minutes.
Transportation (Ginza Line)
After taking the Ginza Line to Asakusa Station, I exited through Exit 5, turned right, and walked for about 30 seconds to reach my destination. There is a large sign on the first floor with clear directions, making it easy for me to find the location. Once I saw the sign, I simply entered the building and took the elevator to the third floor.
Arrival and Reception
I arrived at Yae Kimono on time, according to my reservation time. As soon as I entered, the staff at the front desk warmly greeted me. After confirming my reservation details, they asked me to take off my shoes and place them in a black bag, which all my stuff put in it can be stored at the shop for free—a very convenient service.
Then, I sat down to fill out a simple questionnaire to record my basic information, which helps us provide better service to customers from different countries.
Choosing a Kimono
After filling out the questionnaire, I moved to the kimono area, where there were a variety of gorgeous kimonos to choose from—truly a feast for the eyes!
As a staff member at Yae Kimono, I usually recommend that customers choose a kimono based on their personal preferences and their itinerary for the day.
Today, as a customer, I finally got to experience the fun of selecting a kimono for myself!
I chose a beautiful kimono and match it with a cute handbag, which made the whole look even more perfect.
Dressing
Once I selected my kimono, I moved to the dressing area, where our professional kimono dresser began helping me put on the kimono.
Even as a staff member, I was still deeply impressed by the attention to detail in this service. Every little detail was carefully attended to, from the tightness of the obi belt to the adjustment of the collar, ensuring the kimono fit comfortably and looked great, allowing me to enjoy the day in my kimono with ease.
Hair Styling
Next will be the hair styling ! Our shop offers a variety of styles for customers to choose from, and no matter which hair type you have, our stylists can create a hairdo that complements the kimono perfectly.
Today, I chose a traditional Japanese-style hairstyle, which suited my kimono so well and made the overall look even more striking.
Choosing Accessories
Then came the selection of the zori (traditional sandals). As a staff member, I often help customers choose the right pair of zori, but when it was my turn to pick, I realized how fun it really is! My colleagues, as always, had a great eye and helped me find a pair of zori that were both beautiful and comfortable, so I was ready to go! (From entering the shop to completing the dressing and hair styling, it took about 50 minutes.)
Going Out
Finally, I was ready to step out onto the streets of Asakusa and personally experience the joy of sightseeing while wearing a kimono! Asakusa is filled with historic landmarks and lively shopping streets, and dressed in a kimono, I felt as if I had traveled back in time. Whether it was the Kaminarimon gate, Senso-ji Temple, or the street food stalls along the way, everything seemed even more special with the kimono. Walking through the streets, I could feel the appreciative gazes of passersby, and this sensation was truly indescribable.
Return of Kimono
After spending a wonderful day in Asakusa, I returned to Yae Kimono, where I returned the kimono at the designated time and changed back into my own clothes. (You need to return it by 17:30)
If any customers feel that they don’t have enough time, they can also choose to return the kimono the next day, with a small extension fee of 2000 yen~ super convenient.
